Born a native Floridian, I love the sun and the humidity. Yes, I said it, I love the humidity. That hot dry air just isn’t for me. Although I have to admit that come the end of September I am looking forward to cooler weather. Water has a mesmerizing affect on me and I find great peace just watching it. I guess really I am just a lover of nature, and would much rather be outside than in. Lucky for me, my husband enjoys it too, maybe even more.
I have always been fairly active and enjoy off-shore fishing, swimming, water & snow skiing, cooking from my garden, and sweets – preferably chocolate of some sort. I am not a big shopper and if I do I prefer furniture stores and kitchen shops. I have a weakness for dishes. Love old things, so I seem to have a few collections (mostly of kitchen items). My garden is an ever evolving project. I like to stay busy and most often have some sort of project I am working on or want to work on.
I graduated from FSU with a degree in Interior Design. I dated my husband through my 5 years of college and have now been happily married for 17 years. We have a twelve year old boy who is our greatest joy (and sometimes challenge). We decided to enter the curious world of homeschooling at the start of third grade. We just started our fifth year, and couldn’t be happier.
I love my family and am very blessed to have a really good one. My mom and dad live across the street and my one and only sibling, my sister and best friend in the whole wide world (second only to my husband and maybe a tie with my mom), lives in Southern California. My husband’s family is wonderful, and between the two families, we have been blessed with 6 beautiful (inside & out) nieces and 3 very handsome nephews. We love sleepovers and summer vacations!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer just after my 38th birthday. Life at that point became a whirlwind. Now a year and a half later, I am trying to find my new normal.
